The Buzz about BEMER

Diet, sleep, exercise, hydration and stress reduction are all crucial factors to keep your body working at an optimal level. All of these are important, and when any one is out of balance your energy level, fitness performance or overall health can be affected. Making good choices—such as eating healthy foods, exercising, drinking enough water and learning methods to reduce stress—can enhance these factors.

But there is one additional element that may often be over-looked—blood flow. Our bodies circulate blood throughout the body to deliver oxygen and nutrients to the muscles, organs and tissues while removing waste such as carbon dioxide and lactic acid. Several factors can affect blood flow including lifestyle, age, diet, exercise and stress.

An online list includes 15 areas causing probable exposure to toxins, notably: water and food, alcohol and lifestyle drugs, plastics, silver dental fillings, anesthesia and chemotherapy, medications, and chemicals existing in the environment. The consensus is that better blood flow will remove more toxins and do a better job of delivering needed oxygen and nutrients to our cells.

Keep in mind that the same 9 to 12 pints of blood flows through the body all day, every day. So how do you support blood flow to optimize your physical and mental capacities?

One non-invasive, non-chemical method is Bio-Electromagnetic Energy Regulation—otherwise known as BEMER—designed to improve circulation which helps maintain the body’s natural self-regulating processes. The BEMER is a patented multi-dimensionally configured signal, or waveform, using a pulsed electro-magnetic field (PEMF) that is transmitted into the body. The BEMERsignal acts as the “agent” that stimulates the circulatory response.

While there are other PEMF devices on the market, the BEMER is unique due to its signal and its configuration. The signal leads to scientifically grounded stimulation of the smallest vessels that support the circulatory system. According to the manufacturer, no other bio-physical modality in the world targets the microcirculation in the way that BEMER does.

This short video explains BEMER’s technology and how it is applied.

Integrating BEMER with a Wellness Program

BEMER is ideal to add to current wellness initiatives including exercise routines, massage, chiropractic treatments, physical therapy, life coaching, and more. In just two eight-minute daily sessions of resting on the BEMER mat, users can experience maximum benefits, with less frequent use providing results at a slower pace. The BEMER mat, that is connected to a B-Box, has pads that send electromagnetic signals to a person’s body and delivers them to the appropriate places.

Iryna Pantelyuk, owner of Hidden Power Pilates and Life Coaching in Northbrook, Ill. became a BEMER distributor to complement her other services.

“I deal with injured people and BEMER helps with the recovery process when combined with exercise and massage,” she said. “It works over time.”

While Pantelyuk offers BEMER therapy in her office, she also recommends that people consider it for personal home use. She said it helps remove toxins from our bodies that cause low energy and depression, brain fog, anxiety, headaches, and other maladies. Some toxins are produced by our own bodies and others are from our environment.

In her studio, she offers BEMER treatments before and after a Pilates session. “It is releasing inflammation—lactic acid from the muscles—and makes your workout more beneficial,” Pantelyuk said.

Backed by Research

BEMER is a German engineered, Swiss made medical device that has been available in Europe and more than 40 countries since 1998. Research on BEMER’s use and technology can be found on Pubmed.gov, which contains peer-reviewed research.

Research studies analyze how BEMER affects: increased blood flow and delivery of oxygen and nutrients to all cells; improved cardiovascular functions; improved removal of cellular waste; improved athletic performance and physical fitness; better sleep; greater endurance and energy; and better concentration and improved mental acuity.

“The technology is logical to me as areas of the body that are injured need increased nutrients to heal,” said Dr. Jeff Schwan, DC., CCSP®, Northbrook, Ill. Schwan has been a chiropractic provider for 11 years and has seen the PEMF technology used by other chiropractic groups with success and acceptance.

While, like all therapies, results vary with each user, BEMER therapy can enhance:

  • General blood flow
  • The body’s nutrient and oxygen supply and waste disposal
  • Cardiac function
  • Physical fitness, endurance, strength and energy
  • Concentration, mental acuity, stress reduction and relaxation
  • Sleep management

BEMER is registered as a medical device in the U.S. by the FDA, has few contraindications and is safe to use for most people. BEMER is a general wellness product and is not intended to be used to treat or cure any disease and/or condition. A consultation with your healthcare practitioner is recommended before using BEMER therapy.
